Reflecting the modest yet attractive Appalachian life, Gretchen Mullinix uses many mediums in hopes of learning as much as possible to satisfy her desire to create. Some mediums connect with her more than others such as painting and ceramics. Influenced by nature, people, and her own experiences from life, Gretchen makes an assortment of works. Her work tends to have an inviting raw, organic, and almost old-fashioned quality. She also takes inspiration from various aspects of the entertainment industry, primarily music and animation. Some of her other practiced mediums are photography, t-shirt design, illustration, and paper mâché. Gretchen was born in middle Tennessee and received her Associate Degree from Volunteer State Community College in 2023. She now anticipates receiving her Bachelors of Science in Studio Arts in May of 2025 from Tennessee Technological University. Gretchen hopes that in seeing her work others too might be driven to give further attention to the small things, and to the quiet moments in life.
